The Cuddle Critter Story
The client needed instantly lovable creatures that would appeal to both kids and adults while working within strict packaging limits. Every creature also needed its own distinct personality, name and birth date.
The Critters
I designed the visual identity and character look for a line of hand-sewn therapeutic creatures. Each plush contains a removable hot/cold pack for soothing aches, reducing stress, or helping little ones (or adults) wind down. A coordinating sleep mask completes the set, turning the creature into a full bedtime or self-care companion.
The Packaging Look & Feel
The designs needed to feel warm and huggable while standing out on retail shelves. Each creature had to have its own unique bright colour scheme and special repeating pattern that would attract customers. At the same time, every detail had to work within tight packaging constraints — the plush had to fold flat cleanly, maintain its charm when compressed, and still look vibrant and premium in the box.
